Xeno

XENO is a project conceived by E-20, a cultural promotion group from Cormòns, promoted in collaboration with Territoria Nord Est and Trieste Contemporanea, with the participation of other regional cultural bodies and institutions. It aims to maintain and develop areas of the Eastern Hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia that are no longer usable for agriculture, indicating uses that lead to the cultural and tourist redevelopment of the entire territory.

XENO is a permanent project and thus fits into the logic of possible synergies between the worlds of agriculture, nature tourism, and art.
The title Xeno (from the Greek Xenòs: stranger, but also guest) is meant to highlight the peculiar characteristics of the place and the value of multiculturalism.

In considering the characteristics of this project, E-20 identified the Perusini Farm in Gramogliano (Corno di Rosazzo) as the ideal location for the implementation of the pilot project, serving as an operational model in the Eastern Hills.
It involves placing sculptures and site-specific installations on the slopes of Mount San Biagio and carrying out a series of interventions to enhance accessibility (paths, benches, signage, site maintenance, etc.).

The first work is a sculpture by Alessandra Bonoli (iron sculpture, dimensions: h. 5.96 m x 0.80 x 0.80), placed on a hill specially restored within the Perusini Estate in Gramogliano, Corno di Rosazzo.

“Menhir,” the title of Alessandra Bonoli’s sculpture, is made of iron and freely inspired by the large oblong stones planted vertically in the ground, typical of some prehistoric civilizations. The work, with a strong religious and cultural significance, embodies a vertical tension and a sense of extension that can be associated with a true “energy marker,” a “place of connection” between the sky and the earth, between what is above our heads and what is beneath our feet, where one can perceive the intention to create a unique and magical place, a source of vital energy.
